Ann Belser from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette writes about the evolution of the resume, from typed carbon-copied documents, to online resume uploading, through to today’s “job hunting meets computer dating” approach. Belser describes how the QuietAgent technology provides job seekers with anonymity, and guidance in creating their online profile;

The Web site is anonymous. Applicants do not reveal who they are until employers contact them. Employers can sift through applicants without contacting anyone until they have winnowed their field to a few.

The system guides applicants through filling in education and work experience, sort of like TurboTax takes taxpayers through the 1040.
